Laughter Yoga Canada was created by Fif Fernandes and Hamish Boyd to bring together Certified Laughter Yoga Leaders and Teachers in Canada to promote world peace and well being for all. Fif and Hamish have been laughing, working, and playing together since 1986. Individually and collectively they offer workshops, seminars, keynote speeches, energizers, icebreakers, team building and laughter sessions.
Clients include: City of Calgary, World Conference of Women’s Shelters, SCOPE Society, The Disability Action Hall, The Social Justice Forum, University of Calgary: Department of Social Work, Glenbow Museum, Alberta Children’s Hospital, Peter Lougheed Centre, Health Link, Burn Unit Nurses, Hospice Calgary, PartyLites, staff and clients at retirement centres including: Renoir, MacKenzie Town, and Glenmore Park Carewest, Calgary Dowsers, Cederglen Villa, FCJ Centre, St. David’s United Church, Diversity in Health Care Conference, Boys and Girls Club, and the Epcore Centre for the Performing Arts, numerous seniors, schools and teacher’s conventions.
Fif Fernandes is a Certified Laughter Yoga Leader and Teacher; trained and certified by Dr. Madan Kataria, founder of Laughter Yoga. Fif has earned her BFA(Drama) and is a Certified Virtues Project Leader. She is on staff with the Calgary Health Region as Jumpa the Therapeutic Clown at the Alberta Children’s Hospital and the Peter Lougheed Centre. Fif has received numerous national and international awards as a producer, director, writer, and performer for television and stage. Currently, as well as presenting laughter workshops for schools, teacher’s conventions, seniors facilities, non-profit organizations and government. Along with Carolyn Pogue, she co-founded StoryJam, a theatre company all about peace, and The Art of Peace Camp, a summer camp for kids in Calgary. Fif facilitates regular laughter sessions and loves every minute!

Hamish Boyd is an award-winning playwright and actor. He received his Certified Laughter Yoga Leader training from Fif Fernandes. Hamish has worked extensively with Fif as a co-writer on documentaries, videos and television. He can be seen in numerous roles on TV and film. Hamish loves to laugh and share laughter with others. He just completed a very successful run of his one-man show “My Autopsy” and is taking it on the road. Despite the title, it is a very humorous account of 50 years of his life. Hamish also works with people with disabilities, and as a standardized patient, training student doctors at the Medical Skills Centre at the University of Calgary. He also facilitates regular laughter sessions and workshops with Fif.
Recently Hamish is trained as Certified Laughter Yoga Leaders and Teacher from Dr Madan Kataria in Bangalore, India.
